Comparison / QuickBooks, honestly

Inventory software for QuickBooks Online: the honest status

Plainly: BSimple's accounting handoff is established for Xero and MYOB, with US integrations — QuickBooks included — rolling out. If QBO is your system today, here is what to check before deciding.

The key facts

  • The honest status: BSimple pushes approved invoices to Xero and MYOB today; US accounting integrations, including QuickBooks, are rolling out.
  • What "rolling out" means: not generally available yet — verify current status with us before committing.
  • What the handoff must do: approved invoices pushed, payment status mirrored, GST/tax handled, no re-keying.
  • Your decision: if QBO support is live and the record fits, proceed; if not, the honest answer may be a QBO-native inventory tool for now.
  • The wider system: inventory management end to end maps the whole record this page sits in.

The status, stated plainly

We build BSimple, and we would rather lose a sale than blur this: the accounting handoff that is established today is Xero and MYOB. Integrations for US accounting systems — QuickBooks Online among them — are rolling out, which means they are not generally available yet. If QuickBooks Online is your system of record and you need a connected inventory tool this month, BSimple may not be the right answer yet, and we would rather say that than sign you up to a roadmap.

The practical step: check current status with us before deciding. If the rollout has reached QBO by the time you read this, the rest of this page is the evaluation frame; if not, it tells you what to demand from whoever you choose instead.

What any QBO-connected inventory tool must do

The requirements are identical to the Xero handoff, with QBO as the counterpart:

  • Approved invoices pushed automatically — no exports, no re-typing, tax codes mapped.
  • Payment status mirrored back — paid and voided in QBO visible against the operational order.
  • Purchasing reconciled — supplier bills matched to purchase orders, price variance caught.
  • Contacts coherent — selective import, not a clobbering sync.

A tool that describes this vaguely is describing it badly. The handoff is where inventory integrations succeed or quietly fail — it deserves the sharpest questions in any evaluation, whichever product you pick.

The record matters even before the connection

Accounting connectivity is the boundary; the stock record is the substance. Whatever you choose must hold live quantities across locations, record movements as transactions with an audit trail, run counts from the floor, and drive purchasing from reorder levels — the stock-management mechanics and the tracking test describe the bar. A tool with a perfect QBO sync and a fragile record just delivers wrong numbers faster.

When BSimple's QBO integration reaches you, it carries the rest of the product with it: multi-location stock, the wholesale portal, recipes and traced batches, purchasing — from $180/month (AUD), one record, with the trial running the whole loop on your own products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does BSimple integrate with QuickBooks Online?

Not yet generally — US accounting integrations including QuickBooks are rolling out, with Xero and MYOB established today. Verify current status with us before committing; we will give you the state as it is.

What should I use in the meantime?

If QBO connectivity is required now, a QBO-native inventory tool is the honest answer for today. If the record is the urgent part and accounting can wait, a trial of the record tells you what you are missing — but we will not pretend the boundary is not there.

How will the QBO handoff work when it ships?

The same as the Xero handoff: approved invoices pushed with tax codes mapped, payment status mirrored back, purchasing reconciled. The integration is described, documented and testable — that is the standard.

What does BSimple cost?

Plans start at $180/month (AUD) with every feature in the core plans. The trial is free and full-featured — and the honest place to verify integration status for your situation.
